A former assistant high school principal in Upstate New York has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment after allegedly kissing a 16-year-old student on the cheek and neck. The incident, which occurred on November 18 at Geneva High School, was witnessed by another student who contacted someone for help. The victim's mother, upon learning about the incident, sought accountability from school administrators. She was told by the former principal, James J. Nuñez, that it was 'all in good fun'. However, the mother was not convinced and decided to keep her son home from school until she felt it was safe. The Geneva City School District placed Nuñez on administrative leave and he later resigned. The incident is believed to be isolated, and while Nuñez has no prior criminal history, there was a previous investigation involving a concerned parent that was reported to the school district. The police chief stated that no criminal charges were filed after that investigation. The public is encouraged to provide any information to the Geneva Police Department.
